Ravioli senza glutine fatti in casa / Homemade gluten free ravioli

Sono di frettissima ma volevo condividere la foto dei ravioli che ho fatto oggi: li ho fatti al prosciutto e alla ricotta e melanzane! Fare la pasta in casa è divertentissimo per me: non avevo mai provato i ravioli ma sono stati abbastanza semplici e prossimamente condividerò la ricetta per intero!

I'm so always in a hurry these days but I wanted to share with you some good old Italian homemade cooking: ravioli! I made some with ham and some with aubergines and ricotta cheese. I love making pasta at home, it's pretty easy and I'll soon post a recipe!

Refashioning: da maglione a cardigan / Sweater to cardi refashioning

Ecco un progetto che ho studiato per moltissimo tempo, consultandomi anche con la Piperita Patty, e che finalmente sono riuscita a realizzare circa tre settimane fa! Mi dispiace che il tutorial non sia molto esauriente ma ero presissima dai lavori.. in ogni caso il procedimento è molto semplice!

Innanzitutto vi serve un maglioncino un pò anonimo, possibilmente di lana fine:

Here is a project I've been getting ready for in the past few months, thanks to Piperita Patty's advice, too. I eventually managed to go through it some weeks ago and I was anxious to share it with you. Sorry the tutorial is not very detailed, but I was particularly excited by the project and I forgot to take a few pictures. The whole process is clear anyway so I'm pretty sure you will have no troubles whatsoever in repeating it.

First of all, you need an old, shabby sweater. Choose one made by thin wool if possible:

Per prima cosa, piegando il maglione a metà nel senso della lunghezza, scoprite per l'appunto la metà. Io anziché segnarla con il gesso da sarto mi trovo più comoda con lo scotch di carta!
Tagliate a metà di questa linea, in maniera che si formino i due lati del cardigan.

First of all, fold the sweater in two along the vertical line and mark it. This line will give you the precise half of the sweater: I use paper sello-tape to mark it.
You will cut along this line, so as to have the two halves of the cardi.

A questo punto è necessario cucire cucire i due lembi del cardigan perché la lana non si sfili. NB: io ho utilizzato l'orlo svelto, ossia quella sorta di nastro adesivo che, se stirato, incolla le due parti: sembra orribile ma in realtà su questo progetto secondo me è molto funzionale perché blocca la lana in maniera più sicura dei punti.

Inoltre, per abbellire un pò il cardigan magari volete aggiungere qualcosa.. nel mio caso, ovviamente.. ROUCHES!
Se volete farlo anche voi, scegliete il nastro che vi piace e compratene una volta e mezza la lunghezza di ciascun lato del cardigan (ad es.: ogni lato del cardigan è alto 40 cm, voi comprate due nastri da 60 cm ciascuno).
Appuntate le rouches con degli spilli distribuendone bene la lunghezza e cucitele al maglione: io le ho cucite a mano e sono venute bene. 
Ed ecco qui!


Now you'll need to hem  the two halves of the cardigan, to prevent stitches from unravelling. I used iron-on adhesive tape: it might sound disgusting, but I think it's the best solution to keep the wool fixed.
Besides, you might want to emebellish the cardi, which in my case meant.. GATHERINGS!
If you want to do the same, you'll need two , each one measuring 1,5x the lenght of each side of the cardigan.
Pin the gatherings to the wool and sew them and.. there you are!

Accessori ad uncinetto / Crocheted accessories

Mi sono divertita moltissimo a creare questi... fiori? tondini? formelle? COSI? usando la prima parte del tutorial di Elena Regina per creare dei portatutto.. ma ora sono in dubbio su cosa realizzare.

Uno di loro (quello rosso, bianco e menta) vorrebbe che gli aggiungessi qualche perlina al centro per diventare una collana a cravatta, mentre l'altro mi chiede di fare di lui una fascia per capelli (ma io gli ho spiegato che continua a sembrarmi troppo una presina da cucina).

Voi che ne dite, mie fidate?

I really had fun creating these.. whatever they are, using Elena Regina's first bit from the tutorial on how to realize a little pouch. Now they're (almost) done, I'm not 100% sure of what I want to do with them: the first one (red-white-mint) wants me to sew some beads on it to turn it into a tie-necklace. The other one is a budding headband.. What would you say?!

Lezioni dal crafting: non tutto è come sembra / Lessons from crafting: what you see is not always what you get

Ricordate la maglietta di S.Valentino che ho postato qualche tempo fa? Sembrava un progetto facile, tipo: prendi una maglietta, stampa lo schema del punto croce e vai sopra di crocette.
Mai impressione fu più fallace: questa maglietta è stata un incubo!!!

Do you remember the Valentine's day t-shirt I posted a while ago? It looked like an easy project: you get a t-shirt, pin your cross-stitch pattern on it, cross-stitch it. 
Well, that wasn't easy. It's been a nightmare!

Alcune riflessioni per chi volesse avventurarsi in questo progetto:

- la mia t-shirt era in maglina elasticizzata: scomoda perché i punti devono essere fatti con la giusta tensione per non risultare né troppo lenti né arricciare il tessuto; comoda perché ho potuto cucire con un filo e un ago grossi, senza che la maglietta si bucasse in malo modo

- Filo di lana grosso è la scelta vincente: un filo più sottile tenderà sempre a restare morbido

- la modalità suggerita dal tutorial prevedeva di stampare o riportare su carta lo schema, appuntarlo alla maglietta e ricamare sopra: orribile, orribile procedimento! La carta fa sì che i punti non aderiscano bene al tessuto, rendendo tutto il lavoro impreciso e troppo morbido. Almeno, a me è successo così. Allora, ho bucato lo schema sul foglio nei punti in cui l'ago avrebbe dovuto entrare uscire, e ho quindi segnato i punti delle varie crocette con un pastello a cera direttamente sul tessuto, e ho cucito così (mitico suggerimento del Pì!!!)

Some suggestions for those who will try the project:

- I had an elastyc t-shirt, which is a bit tricky to sew on because the tension can either be too loose or too tight, but is a good option for using a thick thread and needle without causing troubles to the fabric.

- You'd better go for a wool thread: cotton just makes the stitches too loose.

- The original tutorial suggests you print the pattern, pin it to the t-shirt and cross-stitch on it. Big mistake: I had lots of troubles because the paper prevents the stitches from having appropriate tension, risulting too loose and messy. 

The Mighty Pi therefore suggested we punched the pattern where the needle was supposed to go in and out, and then report the same little holes on the fabric with a crayon. 

Alla fine dei conti, ecco qui il risultato. Sono contenta ma.. che fatica! Me la godrò proprio questa maglietta! Buon San Valentino a tutti!

In the end, here is the outcome. I'm pretty satisfied, but oh my has it been exhausting! I will really enjoy wearing this t-shirt! Happy Valentine's day everyone!

Negli ultimi dieci anni ho avuto un momento di appannamento.

Nel corso delle vacanze di Natale ho avuto occasione di vedere un sacchissimo di film, e mi sono appuntata i migliori per poterli consigliare!
In vista del weekend, vi consiglio di vedere Le Avventure Acquatiche di Steve Zissou, di Wes Anderson, regista più conosciuto per I Tenenbaum The Darjeeling Limited. Il Pì lo adora, quindi mi sta toccando la filmografia completa, ma questo è davvero esilarante.
Come in tutti i film di Wes Anderson, l'ironia è al limite dell'assurdo, i personaggi sono surreali, e l'aspetto visivo e cromatico è curatissimo. Vi assicuro che alla fine del film vi sarà difficile non avere voglia di buttarvi nell'armadio per indossare qualcosa di rosso abbinato al turchese! Guardate qui:

During Christmas holidays I had the chance to watch some movies, and I've jotted down a few I wanted to talk about with you. For a special weeknd movie night, I suggest you watch Wes Anderson's The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. You might know him for his masterpiece The Royal Tenenbaum; The Mighty Pì has fallen in love with this director so we are going through all his films!
This one is no different from the rest of its production, but it's a bit more surreal, and the visual coherence is extremely interesting, as in all of his movies. I bet you will want to open your closet and get dressed in turquoise and red after seeing the movie! Take a look!

Collo-sciarpa all'uncinetto - Crochet scarf-collar

Questo potrei chiamarlo un week-end project, visto che è stato messo in cantiere venerdi pomeriggio e oggi è indossato! Una delle cose più belle del weekend per me è proprio potermi dedicare ai progetti creativi finché ne ho voglia!

Partiamo però dall'inizio: ho visto questo tipo di sciarpa sul bellissimo blog di Elena Regina. Sembrava anche facile quindi mi sono buttata, con l'idea di farne una identica perché mi piaceva soprattutto la combinazione dei colori.. ma come al solito ho cambiato un pò i piani: non ero sicura delle diminuzioni ai lati quindi non ho dato l'effetto tondeggiante di cui parla Elena, e avevo talmente voglia di continuarla che non ho aspettato di procurarmi tutti i colori che mi servivano, quindi alla fine ho realizzato un risultato un pò diverso, che però mi piace molto soprattutto perché fa effetto sia collo che sciarpa, e mi piace molto il drappeggio davanti!

I would call this a weekend project, as I started it on Friday and I am wearing it today! 
I had seen this lovely scarf on awesome Elena Regina's blog: it seemed pretty easy so I decided I might give it a go but, as it often happens, I changed my mind during the project so in the end it turned out a bit different from the original, not only in colours but in shape too! I like it a lot anyway, because it both looks as a collar and a draped scarf.

Una delle modifiche più consistenti è stato usare una lana più fine di quella indicata da Elena (ma questa sciarpa è geniale anche per smaltire gli avanzi, quindi io ho usato quello che avevo!). Il risultato è meno compatto del suo, ma a me piace perché da alla sciarpa la leggerezza e la trasparenza di una specie di piccolo scialle. 
Non do le indicazioni perché sul blog di Elena sono spiegate benissimo, quindi consiglio di rifarvi al suo tutorial se volete provarla.. io di certo ne rifarò altre, si accettano suggerimenti sulle combinazioni di colore!

One of the most significant alterations I made to Elena's tutorial is I used a much thinner wool, which gives the scarf a less tight effect, but I like its transparency and airy look! I suggest you actually use all the leftovers you have: this scarf is great to make room in your yarn stock!
I am not sharing any pattern because Elena's is much clearer than mine could be.. I will be making more and suggestions are welcome as to colour combinations and other stile details!
